MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS – JUNE 3, 2024

During the regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the Serbian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce “SAKOM,” held on June 3, 2024, numerous decisions were made regarding SAKOM’s most important project – the scholarship program, as well as providing additional support to distinguished scholarship holders.

The Board of Directors approved the scholarship for Mladen and Marija Gligorić from Šabac. Mladen and Marija are siblings, and both are studying at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, Mladen in the Animal Production program, and Marija in the Pomology and Viticulture program. After their studies, they plan to apply the knowledge they have acquired to the family estate located in the village of Štitar, where their father still lives. In line with our tradition and commitment to facilitating learning and communication, we have provided Mladen and Marija with two Samsung tablet devices.

Additionally, the scholarships were extended for our following diligent existing scholarship holders: Jana Vukosavić, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade; Stefan Ljubinković, a third-year student at the Faculty of Economics in Novi Sad; and Taleh Alakbarli, a student from Azerbaijan in his fourth year at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade

We congratulate both new and existing scholarship holders on their success!

In February of this year, we wrote about our scholarship holder Stojan Vučinić and his aspiration to improve his English language (read more about it). In the meantime, Stojan successfully attended two levels of the course, achieved amazing results, and recently wrote to us regarding this matter as follows:

“Your support has a tremendous impact on my life and the life of my family. Thanks to you, I am closer to achieving my goals and dreams. I strive to justify your trust and hope to contribute to our society in the future, thereby returning the kindness you have shown me.”

All members of the Board of Directors supported the decision for Stojan to continue studying English in the next school year.

We have transferred funds to our exceptionally talented scholarship holder, Marta Petrović, who is studying Concept and Character Design, to acquire all the necessary equipment and materials for creating four paintings on the theme of friendship between Serbia and Azerbaijan and our peoples. We eagerly await Marta’s work, which we will delightedly share on our website.
