About us

Association Serbian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce "SAKOM" as a non-governmental and non-profit organization brings together socially responsible companies connected by the idea of humanity and the desire to contribute to the strengthening of cultural and philanthropic ties between the Serbian and Azerbaijani people. Currently, SAKOM unites 27 construction companies, which together participate in the realization of key infrastructure projects in Serbia, while within SAKOM they respond to challenges in a socially responsible manner, aiming at being useful members of the communities in which they operate.

In addition to scholarships for students, SAKOM has implemented numerous projects and donations to support the social community. As an example, shoes and uniforms were donated to KBC Zemun during the state of emergency caused by Coronavirus. Additionally, the Association fosters friendship with the monastery "Duboki potok" from the north of Kosovo, an immovable cultural treasure, and contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage for future generations by donating computer equipment and funds for a library cabinet for the storage of old, restored manuscripts dating from the 16th century.

However, these are not the only humanitarian actions in which SAKOM has participated together with its members. Considering Azerbaijan's support for martial arts on a global level, as well as the outstanding results of Azerbaijanis and Serbs at international competitions, SAKOM decided last year to support the extremely humane action of "VIN Academy" from Belgrade and the Judo club "Kukolj Team" which promote martial arts for blind and visually impaired people. Further, SAKOM provided free training in this club through cooperation with the "VIN" sports association to all scholarship holders of SAKOM's scholarship program for students with financial difficulties, which was launched in October 2020 and has since become the organization's most important project.
