Report on COVID-19 News and Measures in Republic of Serbia

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Republic of Serbia in last March 2020, the country has gone through an enormous transition of adapting to the unprecedented hardships, doing everything in its power to give its citizens needed protection. Nevertheless, the citizens themselves had also to present their willingness to cooperate and follow the precautionary measures.

As of June 18, the total number of patients in Serbia since the beginning of the pandemic has exceeded half a million – a total of 715 442 cases of coronavirus have been registered so far. Furthermore, 4 311 577 people have been tested, and 9 187 people have died. The mortality rate is 0.98%.

Entry Regime in the Republic of Serbia

Individuals coming to the Republic of Serbia from all countries of the world, except the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Hungary, are allowed to enter the Republic of Serbia only with the negative RT-PCR test not older than 48 hours.

Individuals coming from the USA are allowed to enter the country with a negative FIA Rapid Antigen test instead of a negative RT-PCR test.

Otherwise, the citizens of these countries will be given a written notice – a health warning about the obligation to comply with the quarantine measure at home for ten days.

Vaccination Statistics

5 070 754 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 have been given in Serbia, according to data from June 17, 2021. The citizens are able to choose between four kinds of vaccines – Pfizer, Sputnik, Sinopharm, and AstraZeneca, while 2 389 243 citizens in total have received two doses of vaccines.

Current Precautionary Measures

Since Wednesday, June 16, 2021, the following permitted measures apply:

– Gathering of 500 people outdoors and indoors;
– Organizing graduations;
– Abolition of restrictions on the working hours of retail stores;
– Extension of working hours of indoor catering facilities until 1:00 AM;
– Unlimited working hours of outdoor catering facilities with the condition of turning off the music at 1:00 AM;
– The audience is allowed in the stadiums.
