During the Online Board Meeting of the Serbian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce “SAKOM,” held on February 22, 2022, it was unanimously decided to accept among SAKOM’s scholarship holders a first student from Azerbaijan, Taleh Alakbarli, who is studying at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade based on a scholarship of 15,000.00 dinars received from the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Taleh is the first scholarship holder from Azerbaijan, and we are delighted that SAKOM thus promotes cultural exchange between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and strengthens good bilateral relations.
Furthermore, regarding SAKOM’s scholarship program, our last year’s scholarship holders, the siblings Jelisaveta and Petar Isaković, got their scholarship extended for another year, given the achieved academic success and their great desire for education and personal development. As Mr. Turkoglu noted, SAKOM wants to help and accompany its scholarship holders to the end of their educational cycle.
It is also a great honor for SAKOM to continue cooperating and supporting the Serbian Orthodox Monastery “Duboki Potok,” which is located in the municipality of Zubin Potok, belonging to the Eparchy of Raška and Prizren, and whose church is an immovable cultural heritage and cultural monument.
This year, we will support the monastery in publishing a monograph that will provide an accurate insight into the monastery’s history, present the important cultural heritage and monument of the monastery church, and the strong impact of this monastery on educational life in the region.
Hence, Protosyncellus Abbot Damjan was the guest of honor at the Board meeting, during which it was decided to allocate 5,000.00 euros for publishing a monograph on Monastery “Duboki Potok.” In that regard, the Donation Agreement was signed, while the members of the Board of Directors and the Protosyncellus Abbot Damjan had the opportunity to talk more closely and express mutual satisfaction regarding the continuation of the cooperation.
