Recently, an Azerbaijani filming crew arrived at the Adore House of Chocolates in Belgrade to film a story that resonates with the values of community, growth, and opportunity. They were there to highlight SAKOM’s scholarship program, which wholeheartedly supports students from Serbia, but also Azerbaijan, opening doors for young people who show incredible potential yet face financial obstacles on their educational paths. Adore House of Chocolate, one of SAKOM’s dedicated partners, provided the perfect setting for these interviews – a warm and welcoming space where scholarship holders could speak candidly about their experiences.
Through sincere conversations, the students shared how this support has been transformative. Each young person brought a unique story to the table, yet all expressed a common theme of gratitude and ambition, showing how much it means to be part of something that values them and their dreams. They spoke of the challenges they’ve overcome, the goals they’re working toward, and how the scholarships have given them a renewed sense of purpose and hope. These students are Marta Petrović, a second-year student at the Academy of Applied Studies Polytechnic; Petar Isaković, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade; and Stojan Vučinić, a fourth-year student at the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade.
The filming crew also interviewed Ms. Katarina Jaćimović, Adore’s general manager, who discussed why the partnership with SAKOM feels so right for the company. For Adore, partnering with SAKOM through frequent donations of their exquisite chocolates to scholarship holders at each special SAKOM event is more than just a gesture of goodwill,
it’s a way to contribute to a brighter future, one that will benefit everyone involved. Another voice included in the feature was Dr. Nemanja Aleksić, cardiac surgeon and founder of a Brazilian jiu jitsu club in Belgrade, called “VIN Academy”, who has been working with SAKOM to provide sports opportunities for these students. This partnership shows the depth of SAKOM’s commitment, which reaches beyond academics to support students’ personal growth, helping them build resilience and confidence.
This story isn’t so much about the organization but about the young people who are building their futures with the help of a community that believes in them. Through SAKOM’s initiatives, these students are developing as individuals and growing within a network that supports their journey. This filming experience gave them a chance to share their voices with a wider audience, and in doing so, offered a glimpse into how support, encouragement, and belief in potential can extend far and wide as well as change lives in ways we can only begin to see.
