Annual Assembly session of the Serbian-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce SAKOM – June 16, 2025

The Serbian – Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce SAKOM traditionally gathers its members every year in Belgrade with the aim of presenting the achieved results to everyone. This year's Assembly session of SAKOM members was held on June 16, in the pleasant environment of the Radisson Collection "Old Mill" hotel. The Assembly session was attended by representatives of all member companies of the Association. We’re proud of the fact that this Association brings together companies united and motivated by a common goal, which is humanitarian work and strengthening of bilateral relations between the friendly countries - the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In that spirit, this year’s session of the SAKOM Assembly began with the screening of a short film that the crew of Serbian – Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce recorded during their visit to Azerbaijan in May 2025. This project was carried out with the support of the Embassy of Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Serbia and Azvirt Company. During this visit footage of Baku, as well as footage of Shusha and most of Karabakh was recorded. Representatives of member companies and all the guests of honor enjoyed the scenes of the modernly built historical city of Baku and the landscapes of the untouched nature of Karabakh, which were captured by our camera crew. All the present guests also had the opportunity to learn about the cultural and historical aspects that natives of the recorded regions spoke about with pride, and which they’ve been very successfully trying to preserve and pass on to the younger generations for decades.

Members of our Association are well aware of humanitarian values and the importance of preserving national and cultural heritage as can be seen from actions of several companies that, despite their regular annual contribution, additionally engaged and provided financial assistance and donations to the monasteries in Ibarski Kolašin in the northen Kosovo and Metohija. Duboki Potok and Brnjak Monasteries, located near the municipality of Zubin Potok, have received donations on several occasions for the purchase of materials necessary for the renovation of the living space in monasteries and equipment needed for the work of the workshops. On that occasion, the chairmen of this session expressed their special gratitude to the AzVirt Company, Promont Company from Belgrade, DIS Niskogradnja Company from Valjevo, Baumeister Company from Belgrade, as well as to the companies Naftachem from Sremska Kamenica and West Gradnja from Šabac. With the help of these donations, the carpentry and floor were renovated in the monastic residence of the Duboki Potok Monastery, while the Brnjak Monastery received modern equipment for the work of their art workshop. This Monastery, located in Ibarski Kolašin, survives by selling works made in this art workshop.

The Brnjak Monastery, together with Crna Reka and Duboki Potok Monasteries, represents the Holy Trinity of the most famous monasteries in Ibarski Kolašin. They are the basis of spiritual life and unbreakable thread that connects all of Kosovo and Metohija, together with Serbia, to the era of the Nemanjić dynasty and to what Saint Helen of Anjou, mother of kings Milutin and Dragutin, bequeathed to us, which is spread of spirituality, national consciousness and culture among the Serbian people.
