The fundraising campaign for the monasteries from Northern Kosovo and Metohija – Brnjak and Duboki Potok Monasteries

The idea of humanity and the desire to contribute to a better life and progress of our society encouraged us to end the previous year with a joint humanitarian endeavor focused on the monasteries in Northern Kosovo and Metohija. We are glad to say that SAKOM's years-long humanitarian work have been interwoven with plenty of smiles and mutual happiness from all sides.

At the end of 2025, the brotherhood of the Duboki Potok monastery, dedicated to the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple, and the sisterhood of the Brnjak monastery, addressed a request for help to the Serbian Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce. Driven by the desire to contribute to the preservation of spiritual and cultural pillars of our society, we invited our members to participate and support the above-mentioned monasteries from Ibarski Kolašin. As was the case until now, we had a positive response from a great number of companies. Aware that this initiative is not only an act of aid, but also an act of responsibility towards the preservation of spiritual and historical heritage, 13 companies participated in this generous act.

Duboki Potok, the monastery from fourteenth century, with which we cherish a special and sincere friendship, is provided with the funds necessary for the monastery library. On the other hand, the Monastery of the Holy Great Martyr George in the village of Brnjak needed the equipping of the monastery kitchen. On this occasion, the Peri Oplate company from Belgrade delivered all the requested household appliances, while other members donated funds that will make the daily life of this sisterhood easier.

Besides the Peri Oplate company from Belgrade, which is also an active member of the Serbian Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce, we owe a great gratitude to the companies such as Azvirt Ogranak Beograd, LHR, Elektrovat, Pimex Mg, Boja Sombor, Baz Invest, Igmako, RD Mal, Unipromet, GeoSpes, Inkom and Astra Traffic for their voluntary and generous engagement in this act with a generous goal.

In addition to the above-mentioned companies, we sincerely want to thank the Institute for Serbian Culture from Leposavić, Kosovo and Metohija, which responded to our invitation and enriched the library of the Duboki Potok Monastery with a donation of a set of its most prestigious publications.

With the hope that, henceforth, we will be able to show good intensions and readiness to support those who, with their presence, defend the survival of the Serbian people and spirituality in Kosovo and Metohija, we wish you a happy and successful 2026, and all the years ahead us.
